​Makiko was born in Tokyo in a music family, her mother was a violinist, and father was a French Horn player, they met each other in the orchestra. Makiko started her violin lessons at the age of four, followed with piano soon after at the age of five. 

 

Makiko joined in the junior department of Soai Music College in Osaka when she was six years old, played the violin regularly in the orchestra. 

Makiko's family moved Tokyo and she discovered her passion her singing, she entered Kunitachi College of Music, and graduated in singing and Music  Education with distinction, she seeked her further study in London, completed a Master Degree at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in Vocal Performance Studies.

She toured around in Germany as a member of Mozart Society​, and performed in the  concerts that organized by Japanese Embassy in Germany and Japanese Chamber of Commence and business.

​Makiko started teaching piano and singing while she was at GSMD.
